Introducing D2E: Debug-to-Earn
Today we are excited to announce the launch of D2E (Debug-to-Earn), a decentralized bug bounty platform built on Solana. Our mission is simple: make software more reliable by aligning incentives between project owners and debuggers.
The Problem
Traditional bug bounty programs suffer from several pain points. Payouts are slow and often disputed. There is little transparency around which bugs have been reported and which are still open. Debuggers frequently invest hours reproducing a bug only to have their submission rejected without clear reasoning.
How D2E Works
D2E flips the model on its head. Project owners register their repositories on the platform and deposit USDC into an on-chain escrow. Debuggers browse open projects, discover bugs, and submit reproduction scripts that demonstrate the issue.
Here is the key innovation: every submission goes through an automated, two-phase verification process. The first phase runs the reproduction script against the project to confirm the bug exists. The second phase checks that the script is not a false positive or an exploit. When both phases pass, the USDC reward is transferred from escrow to the debugger's wallet automatically—no human gatekeeping required.
Why Solana?
We chose Solana for its speed, low transaction costs, and strong ecosystem. Reward payouts settle in seconds and cost fractions of a cent. USDC on Solana means debuggers receive a stable asset they can use immediately.
What’s Next
Over the coming weeks we will be onboarding our first wave of projects and debuggers. If you maintain an open-source project and want to improve its quality, or if you are a developer who enjoys hunting down tricky bugs, we invite you to join the platform today.
